Fabric – Rayon Twill from LA Fabric District
I think for me the hardest part was sourcing all the supplies! I found this rayon twill for $1.99 in downtown LA, but it’s AWFUL! I didn’t realize at the time, but it’s cheap and already snagging enough to make any girl cry. So I’m already on the hunt for better quality Rayon or Tencel Twill.

Fashion Fabrics – the cheapest!
I used a Rayon fabric for my body lining, and a non stretch suit lining for the sleeve linings. Next time I’ll definitely use a Rayon fabric to line everything.
I used size Large Eyelets – Dritz brand from Joann.
Alterations: I used a 29 inch zipper and added 2 inches in body length for my height. 1 inch added for sleeves. I also added the pockets on after my zipper was in, to make sure they matched perfectly.
This Jacket is PERFECT for spring and late summer nights! It’s casual and buttery soft. I’m already planning my next one. Don’t hesitate to try the Joy Jacket, you are going to love it!

I’m sorry to hear about the snagging, but your jacket does look really good in the photos! Your lining is so pretty! And that’s a great tip about the pockets – I’m going to keep that in mind when I (finally) get around to making my Joy!
