The Fringe Dress/Blouse is a fabulous make for so many reasons. This dramatic hem is super on trend right now. I love the optional waist ties to give the dress a little more shape, and the gathered skirt is super fun and flattering.
Also can I just take a moment to rave about this Tencel fabric. I got it on a killer sale at Fabric Center for $4.20 a yard. They offer 3 colors, this is the medium tone. First of all, that price is amazing! Second, I want to remake my entire wardrobe in Tencel. I might have gotten 9 yards, so beware of many more Tencel projects to come. It’s like butter to wear — so soft.
I sewed up view A because the button up front sold me. I love adding dresses to my wardrobe that can be nursing friendly. A girl gets sick of just wearing skirts and blouses! So any dress with a nursing friendly option, I love.
Left: View A || Right: View B
The stunning Nicole sewed up view B, which I’m completely obsessed with. I love that notch cut out. I’ll be making this view next for sure. Which view do you love?
This back tie is the best! I put mine in the back darts, and it gives me a little more shape without having a zipper, which I love. I’m not sure why I love avoiding zippers, I’m actually pretty comfortable inserting a zipper… nonetheless, I love not putting them in.
Modifications: I cut about 2.5 inches off the front and back curve of the hem. I made this modification because I didn’t want the dress to hang too far past my knee, but I didn’t want the side curve to be too high above my knee either. That’s just my weird personal preference. But I love how it turned out.
