Cards with Cricut Joy

IMG_0326 copy.jpgWhen Cricut presented this project idea, I was excited to jump on board! Everyone needs a little Joy right now, especially a few in particular. The situation with Covid-19 has left many people out of work, over worked, or otherwise hurting. A few individuals have stood out to me lately as needing and deserving recognition.

Doctor and Nurses

A woman from my hometown is a nurse in LA right now. She risks her health and life every day to care for OTHERS. She puts other’s needs before her own and before her families’. Her sacrifice amazes me, and there are COUNTLESS others who go unthanked I’m sure. So today I thank her!

Teachers

My kids are young and I only have one child in public school, but the time and sacrifices I see happening in the school districts is incredible. These men and women have changed the way they work and operate at the drop of a dime! Many have families who need their attention, yet they are still able to put countless hours into lesson plans and materials to insure the success of their students during this strange time. Thank you Mrs. C!

Dentists

I had a unique opportunity to be in the middle of an urgent crown situation when everything started closing. I found myself in a unique situation working with the dentist and his very limited staff. Only allowed to preform emergency work in hopes of preserving face masks, I got to learn a little about how this situation affects dentists. It’s possible that many will lose their practices because debt can’t be paid when appointments aren’t happening. It was so interesting learning more about this industry that is surprisingly crippled and hurting because of this crisis. I’m sure many other medical fields that are not absolutely necessary are struggling just the same. So thank you to my dentist!

I was excited to test out my Cricut Joy for the first time for these cards. I ended up making 13 in total, and it was so fast! Let me walk you through the simple process of my favorite card design.

Follow the prompts on your Cricut Joy Card Mat to load your paper card. I used the precut Cricut Insert Cards. For this card, Design Space will ask for your Cricut Joy Pen first. Insert your pen and watch the magic happen!IMG_0284 copy.jpg

Next you’ll switch out the pen for your knife blade.

Follow the prompts to unload your card. Place the insert behind the cut out.IMG_0302 copy.jpgIMG_0339 copy.jpgIt’s magical and way too simple!IMG_0308 copy.jpgI hope you can join me and send a few notes to those struggling during this time too. IMG_0315 copy.jpg

Wishing your family well and thanks for following along!
